Artistic Statement

Music is the language through which I seek to connect, to heal, and to tell stories beyond words. My journey as a cellist has been one of discovery—of sound, of self, and of the unspoken dialogue between me, other performers and listener. From my earliest memories, when the haunting beauty of the Segah makam resonated within me, to the moment I first heard Schubert’s Trio in E minor and felt an unshakable pull toward the cello, I have been guided by an innate desire to explore and express emotion through music.

Cello has become my artistic companion, allowing me to channel both the melancholy and the joy that shape our existence. My musical path has taken me across countries and cultures, from my formative years in Turkey to my studies in the United States, each step reinforcing the transformative power of sound. Through my performances, I strive to bridge traditions, blending the rich textures of Western classical repertoire with the expressive depth of my Turkish heritage.

Collaboration and storytelling lie at the heart of my artistry. Whether performing chamber music, orchestral works, or solo repertoire, I seek to create an immersive experience—one where music serves as a vessel for shared emotions and universal truths. My time as a performer and educator has deepened my belief that music should be accessible, dynamic, and intimately connected to its audience.

As I continue my artistic evolution, my focus remains on refining my voice as a cellist and engaging with audiences in ways that are both meaningful and transformative. I aspire to push the boundaries of performance, exploring innovative ways to communicate the depth of human experience through my instrument. Above all, I hope to inspire others as I have been inspired—to listen deeply, to feel fully, and to embrace the profound beauty that music offers.
